V&A Podcasts

The Victoria and Albert Museum, London have created a suite of podcasts that are available for free download. Current podcasts include artist-in-residence Sue Lawty on 20th century tapestries and design historian David Crowley on Che Guevara's iconic imagery in the 1960s. 3 contemporary graphic designers also talk about how they have reinterpreted Che's image in their own work. The Ceramics Points of View series finds respected curators, designers, academics and practitioners discussing iconic works from important 20th century ceramicists.
Podcasts are downloadable audio files that can be played on your computer. You can also subscribe to a download feed to have the podcasts downloaded automatically to your .mp3 player upon publication.

Education Media Online: Culverhouse Classical Music Collection

The Culverhouse Classical Music Collection has now been added to Education Media Online.
The collection includes over 50 hours of copyright-free classical music from the 17th to the 20th centuries. Audio files are available in .wav and mp3 formats, or as Windows Media Player and Quicktime ready files. All pieces are available in small segments, usually by movements, and some associated scores are included.
As with other Education Media Online collections, users can extract files for use in secure VLEs. Files can also be used to accompany film/video clips, although permission must be obtained from the copyright holder before use.
