One of the richest public collections of Indonesian textiles in the world is at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra. The gallery has now digitised its extensive collection of over 1,200 works, making them accessible to scholars, researchers and textile enthusiasts worldwide. All images are in colour.
The 'Maps' section of the website allows the collection to be browsed by regions of Indonesia or India. The search facility allows free text searching by subject, creator, title, place of production, technique and creation date. There is also a glossary of terms related to Indonesian textile techniques.
