This collection of digitised photographs is drawn from the archive of the Woolmark Company (formerly the International Wool Secretariat) dating from its foundation in 1937 and housed at the London College of Fashion.
The archive consists of thousands of press releases and associated black and white publicity images, all relating to the use of wool in fashion. Images include representations of fashion by prominent designers of the time. The digitised collection includes a cross section of some 2000 images. Each image includes a transcription of the press information or description attached to the original.
