Arts and Humanities Data Service: Textiles Collection

Begun forty years ago as a teaching resource, the collection of world textiles at the University College for the Creative Arts at Farnham demonstrates a broad range of textile techniques and processes. The collection consists of over 3000 artefacts, including woven Coptic textiles, British woollen cloths, Kashmir shawls, African strip weaving, and English and French engraved roller prints from 1750 to 1850. The collection is particularly strong in 20th century hand weaving and block printed textiles.
