Design Encyclopedia is a searchable, collaborative resource providing reference material on every aspect of the world of design, encompassing companies, products, people, museums, publications, terms and websites. . Features of the resource include an alphabetical index, a set of links to the most recent added entries to the encyclopedia, recent changes, and a wishlist, containing a list of entries needing content.
Design Encyclopedia is based on wiki technology, where entries are written and edited by users themselves. There are both advantages and disadvantages to this approach. GSA students can consult our Library guide to Wikipedia, available on the Library course on the GSA Virtual Learning Environment, for advice and guidance on using wikis for research and learning.
