This online exhibition from the National Archives features 300 mid-Victorian ceramic designs and other curiosities registered by designers with the Board of Trade between 1864 and 1871.
The designs, illustrated by detailed line drawings or early photography, include examples of jugs and plates, including designs for companies such as Wedgwood, Belleek, Minton and Royal Worcester. A number of curiousites found in this album include needlework cases, betting books and early Clark's shoe designs. The exhibition can be viewed by object, proprietor or register date order. The registration mark is also given for each individual design.
