In The Mod

'In the mod' is an interactive resource whose aim is to help understand the colour palettes and hidden relationships of famous paintings. This is done by the use of the new pixel level method of Flash 8, and by advanced statistical analysis. Users can select a painting from an alphabetical list of artists' surnames, and from the selected painting, the hundreds of thousands of colours used are automatically reduced to a manageable palette of a few hundred colours. From here, the colour palette of this painting can be compared to others. The program also features a customization option containing natural brushes and blend modes to create different effects. There is also the option to submit one's own artwork to be included in the online gallery.
