Calico and Chintz

The Smithsonian American Art Museum has provided this Web overview of a 2004 touring exhibition, `Calico and Chintz' featuring twenty-one rare pieced and whole-cloth quilts made in the 19th century.
In the section headed artworks, each quilt is illustrated and accompanied by a description, including the material used, size, date of piece, state in which it was made and the size of each quilt, as well as its provenance. These quilts were all made before 1850 in America from European fabrics.
