Edward A. Shanken

This is the website of Edward A. Shanken, a writer and theorist in the area of new media art. Shanken is the author of many published texts about new media, including articles and several books. His most well-known to date is perhaps his 2003 book 'The Telematic Embrace' (a collection of essays about the cyberneticist Roy Ascott). Shanken is interested in a wide range of issues, such as Artificial Intelligence, the impact of new technologies, and the use of the computer in art.
The website contains 'Selected Writings on Contemporary Art' (an extensive list of Shanken's online writings with links to the texts) and a 'Bibliography of Interdisciplinary Collaboration' (a compendium of new media resources, writings, and artworks).
