Open Source Embroidery

The Open Source Embroidery Project describes itself as "a socially engaged art project developed through workshops and an email list". The project brings together programming for embroidery and computing, based on the common characteristics of needlework crafts and open source computer programming. Also provided on the website are details of a related project, 'HTML patchwork', a project facilitated by Ele Carpenter, artist in residence at Access Space, Sheffield. The website provides full details regarding the projects, information on related workshops and exhibitions, and a useful links page.
