Folk Archive Resource North East


Created and managed by ExploreMusic at the Sage, Gateshead, in partnership with Gateshead Council and the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, the Folk Archive Resource North East (FARNE) website is an extensive online archive and database of information about folk music in the North East of England. It includes access to 4,000 songs, tunes, sound recordings, manuscripts, printed materials, engravings, ephemera and photographs from across the region. It is possible to perform a simple or advanced search or to browse the database by format, person, place, collection, theme or keyword.
