Acclaimed graphic novelists Metaphrog gave a free workshop in the Library earlier in March, where they talked about their work and creative process, including character design and story-telling. The workshop was part-funded by the Scottish Book Trust.
Franco-Scottish artists Metaphrog (a.k.a Sandra Marrs and John Chalmers) have been creating comics, graphic novels and illustrations together since 1996. They are the authors of the critically acclaimed Louis series of graphic novels, and have been nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album and an Ignatz Award for Best New Talent. Their comic adaptation of Edwin Morgan’s poem The First Men on Mercury was released on National Poetry Day in 2009 and was distributed to every Glasgow secondary school pupil. They regularly tour to schools, universities and libraries to explain their creative processes and story-telling.
